Josh is a plain language expert who loves supporting writers to deliver clearer, shorter, more persuasive documents. He is passionate about the social impact of plain language and its power to enhance organisational efficiency, culture and communication.

He also loves having fun and ensuring everyone in his workshops feels safe, comfortable and entertained. Josh gets a kick out of showing writers and organisations the ways plain English goes well beyond word choice and punctuation.

Josh is a former academic with a PhD in English – his work is informed by research-backed approaches to communication. His training style emphasises practical, systematic writing methods that are versatile enough to meet readers’ needs and organisational outcomes.

Josh has had outstanding success training organisations as varied as the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet, Commonwealth Bank and Cancer Council. He’s helped thousands of writers get the outcomes they want in everything from Cabinet submissions to social media posts.
